The Benefits of Consuming High Fiber Flax Seed

Let’s face it, flax seed are delicious and the fact that they have a lot of health benefits just makes it irresistible. There are two reasons why you should consider having flax seed in your diet. First, flax seeds are known to be high in dietary fiber.

They contain 28 grams of fiber per 100 gram serving. That’s just under the recommended daily intake of 30-35 grams of fiber per day. Dietary fiber is important for proper bowel function and strong digestion.

Second, raw flax seeds contain flax seed oil, which is high in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Omega fatty acids are proven to have the abilities to boost brain function, decrease wrinkles while in the same time helps to boost energy.

You should also know that there are actually two types of flax seeds available in the market. Brown flax seeds also known as linseeds and they are readily available in most parts of the world; while golden flax seeds come with a richer taste, but it has slightly less dietary fiber.

It would be better to buy flax seed in bulk quantity to save some of the money that you might waste by getting the flax seed on retail price.
