Public Auto Auctions

Public car auctions are fast becoming the norm all over the United States. This has become evident by the millions who attend and buy from them each month. In places all over this nation on just about any given day you can find Government Subsidized Auctions, Police Auctions and Dealer Auctions as well as Online Auctions. Some of these auctions have huge inventories not just of autos but just about anything you can think of.

One thing to remember though is that the Government and Police Auctions are auctioning off confiscated auto’s (mainly drug dealers and car thieves). So make sure if you get a car that was owned or used by a drug dealer; see to it that it’s been gone over searched and cleaned by the Police (you don’t need any nasty surprises showing up months or years later).

When looking into any auction make sure the enterprise has a solid money-back guarantee. If your looking at several different auctions happening on the same day check out each ones services to see which one is going to offer the best terms as these can vary from enterprise to enterprise.

Dealers can be fickle where they auction off there cars. Some will take them to what they call more “prestigious” larger auctions, while some will take them to smaller out of the way auctions

For example, one dealer from San Diego preferred the auto auctions of the Southwest, and another car dealer liked to take his cars only to auctions put on by specific vendors.

The point of this is; that sometimes if your willing to do some homework and maybe drive a few extra miles you just might just find the car your looking for at very good deal.

So where can you find lists for auction sites in your area or across the country. There are several online sites that let you look for specific cars or auctions coming up.

However, beware any site that will promise something for free, there is usually a catch involved. Most legitimate sites will charge a nominal fee for there information, since there is a lot of work involved in tracking such auctions.

As to online auctions some have rave reviews . Persons who have had no success selling there cars through newspapers or auto sales magazines have turned to online auto auction sites with very good results.

One last thing. There are large quantities of websites devoted to car deals. You might have to slog through hundreds of websites run by those who are not very qualified. So take your time and always ask questions.
