Seized Automobiles Auctions

When you buy your next automobile, SUV or truck, who wouldn’t want to find a way to save money? One particular idea that may indeed help is to look at auctions of confiscated, seized, repossessed and retired motor vehicles. There are many excellent bargains that you can find at these types of auctions, and if you’re lucky you may well find a really nice vehicle being sold at a price considerably below its book value.

It should be said that the reasons why these auctions are held, as well as the types of the vehicles being sold, do in fact vary widely. Additionally, the vehicles may be being sold from any one of a number of different sources: police, sheriffs, government agencies (including both federal and state governments), as well as by banks and financial institutions.

The vehicles can have a number of different backgrounds:

1. Government and law enforcement agencies do sometimes confiscate vehicles from criminals. Such vehicles are often relatively new and may include high-end models. If you’re looking for a top of the range car at an affordable price – this could be an excellent option for you!

2. A large number of cars are retired from government service each year. While it’s true that the vehicles are not new, and may have quite a few miles on the clock, such vehicles are usually well maintained. In many cases these vehicles also come with full service histories.

3. A lot of people take out loans when buying a car, but are unable to keep up the repayments. As a result, banks and financial institutions then repossess these vehicles, and since they have no particular interest in keeping them, put them up for auction.
